Well I've tried somewhere in the range of 40 different pomades. AGS Super 90wt has got to be the heaviest holding. Living in one of the hottest spots in the country, a lot of pomades melt quickly and just don't hold up even tiny pomps when it's 105 degrees out. This stuff is very thick and seemed to hold up in the rain too. I recommend getting a chunk and rubbing it in your palms then spreading it in the hair quickly. I've spread it without using a blow-dryer, but I'd recommend using one to avoid excess clumping or ripping out hair. Holds up pretty well (best yet) in hot, humid conditions. Keep in mind there is no "miracle pomade". It can break down in very sweaty and hot conditions like changing your brake drums outside when it's 93 degrees and you're drenched in sweat. This stuff washes out better than I thought. It leaves behind quite a bit. You seem to get less bed head with this stuff. Has a light and pleasant smell that is unique. The ladies will enjoy it. This stuff is the strongest I've sampled so far. At first I couldn't even get my fingers through it! I tried melting it in warm water, then in the sun, but rest easy: just push a little harder than I did on the first try and scoop some out, rub between your palms, and it will spread. This stuff can't be beaten for its hold. The only drawbacks are the lackluster matte shine and the baby-powder scent, but nothing beats 90wt hold! How Super 90wt Flat-Top Wax became the World's Thickest and consistent Flat-Top Wax
This formulation didn't come easy and there have been some changes made to it over the years.  When American Greaser Supply began in the kitchen of Todd and Leslie Karnahan, the super strong flat-top wax was made with a white natural bees wax. As the product grew in popularity and greater quantities needed to be made, relying on natural bees wax in the mix created a problem as the batches needed to be consistent. Different batches of Bees wax can have different properties based on the location and season it was harvested.

To comply with a short lived FDA requirement to use cosmetic grade wax a yellowish bees wax was then used. It was not quite as strong and it too lacked consistency between batches. But two years later, hair pomades were no longer considered cosmetics and the requirement was lifted.

When the company changed ownership, the new owners, Betzy and Mackenzie Singleton decided to go back to a refined white bees wax which provided a solid and consistent hold from can to can. A pink coloring was added to distinguish the product from 90wt regular and to be consistent with the can labeling color. Thus American Greaser Supply is proud to say Super 90wt is now their thickest hair wax to date and will continue to be so from here on out.

So, the next time you open up a can of Super 90wt Flat-Top Wax and it is pink...rest assured, it's the good stuff.
