Frequently Asked Questions

MY ORDER

Q: How can I view the status of my order?
A: Click on the "Customer Service" tab and then enter the confirmation number you received on your invoice or confirmation e-mail. The order invoice will be displayed. Click the tracking number to receive your tracking status You may view a list of all your orders by selecting "Account History." The resulting page will list all your orders. Click the date of the order whose status you wish to view and its invoice will apear.

Q: When will my package arrive?
A: We usually ship orders no later than the next day. However, on rare occasions we may need a day or two more. The U.S. Post Office predicts that Parcel Post shipments are delivered within 2 to 9 business days, Priority Mail shipments 2 to 3 business days, and Express Mail by the next day. We cannot guarantee the dependability of the U.S. Post Office. Please wait a few additional days before assuming that we failed to ship your package or that the package is lost in shipping. Many customers get their package shortly after they have put in an inquiry with us.

Q: Do you ship outside the U.S.A.
A: Yes, we ship to most countries. There are some countries we do not ship to because they are notorious for loosing packages. However, there are specific postal restrictions and important information you should be aware of. See the "Ordering Information" page HERE and scroll down to "Interantional Ordering."

Q: What are your shipping costs?
A: You can view an estimate of shipping costs by viewing your cart where you can then enter your U.S. or Canada zip code. However, final shipping costs will be displayed on the invoice you see before confirming your order.

Q: Is my credit or debit card information safe?
A: The checkout pages of this Website are SSL which is a secure protocol for data transmission to our card processing service. If you are concerned that your card information is also able to be viewed by us, you may want to select PayPal as your payment method and use your card on the PayPal checkout screen. We therefore never see your card information, only PayPal who do not permanently store this information.

HAIR AND PRODUCTS

Q: I have a question about hair styling, what product to use, use of products, or want suggestions of styles. Where can I look?
A: SlickVille.com offers a wealth of information and photographs all having to do with classic slicked hairstyles and the products to use to achieve a great slicked look. See the Product Directory for comparing products. From the main page you can navigate to hundreds of photos of styles, the SlickVille Library for links to many discussion boards and other resources, and SlickVille High School for a knoledgebase in addition to many other sections to get ideas and answers. Go to SlickVille.com.

Q: How can I remove peteroleum and wax based pomades.
A: As far as we know, there is NO shampoo which COMPLETELY washes any petroleum or wax based product. These pomades and waxes are intended NOT to wash out easily. Degreasing shampoos can only aid in washing out these products. Several applications are often necessary and degreasing products such as dish detergent are recommended. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT ANY SHAMPOO WE SELL WILL COMPLETELY REMOVE ANY HAIR PRODUCT OR OTHER SUBSTANCE FROM YOUR HAIR. THEY ARE TO AID IN CLEANSING. See more information in the Shop Talk section.

Q: What ever happened to Vaseline Hair Tonic?
A: Several visitors to SlickVille.com have asked if we would sell Vaseline Hair Tonic. After much calling around, we found that the last manufacturer was Suave. (The shampoo company). They wrote back to us indicating that they no longer make this product due to lack sufficient demand. Another classic gone. Vaseline Hair Tonic was made of mineral oil with a fragrance. You may want to use mineral oil instead and for a barbershop fragrance add one of the Hair Tonics listed in this store. Use a pomade or other product that offers better hold then comb and finally apply the mineral oil for a high shine just like the Vaseline Hair Tonic. A good alternative is baby oil. There may be brands with milder smells than Johnson&Johnson. 3 in 1 Motor Oil is also very similar in oiliness and oily smell. As an alternative, consider Lucky Tiger 3 Purpose Hair Tonic or Jerris with Oil which both contain oil based and are available here in the Grease Shop.
